Ciate Chalkboard Manicure!

DSC00161

Firstly I promise I am not being sponsored by Ciate to do these post, its just that I was able to pick some of their products up at a discounted price at TK Maxx and I also promise that this is the last of their products that I currently have to share with you.

Recently I have been really into nail varnishes and different effects, I think that this was inspired by all of the colours and textures that I received in my Ciate advent calendar this December.

I loved the caviar sets that I have tried previously and when I saw this set I was excited to give it a try! This set is RRP £28.00 but I was able to pick it up for £7.99, unfortunately you can no longer buy this from TK Maxx but you can pick it up for £12.50 in the Ciate sale, click here!

Now the set in question is Ciate's Chalkboard Manicure, yes thats right, turn your nails into a chalkboard! This was something I was intrigued by!

In the set you get a chalkboard paint post, a matt top coat and 4 chalk pens, I think that this set is presented so lovely and would even make a great gift too!

These are the steps taken to complete the effect:

1) Make sure you have clean , dry nails (from water) as this will allow the polish to go onto the nails better.

2) You then have to paint your nails using the Chalkboard Paint Pot and make sure do two coats for the full effect.

3) This is the fun part, you can now create designs on your nails! I will say that it took a while to 'activate' the pens but once the chalk was flowing, it was fine. Also I would recommend practicing using the pens on a piece of paper before going straight onto the nail, however the beauty of the chalkboard paint pot is that if you make a mistake you just simple add water to a cotton pad and remove!

4) Once you are happy with your design you then apply the Mattnificent Matte Top Coat which helps to seal in your design and then thats it, your done!

I really enjoyed using this set and think that it is defiantly worth a try! If you just like nice colours on your nails nd do not really enjoy the process of doing your nails then I would not recommend this set, however if your like me and like to spend time fiddling on and being creative then this set is for you.

In my opinion it is a bit of a novelty set, once you've tried it and been as creative as possible with it the novelty may wear off but for me I simply love this kit!

I defiantly think it was worth the money and look forward to finding different sets, even from other brands! Haha!

Have you tried any unusual nail kits? If so which would you recommend? Or have you tried this kit, whats your thoughts?

** I am still working on a schedule but can't sen to find the right days to upload yet so be sure to subscribe to never miss a post and also for a chance to win a £20 Asos voucher!**

That is so cool! I'd be tempted to make mine look like "that" chalkboard at Starbucks (you know, where they draw pictures of their seasonal drinks out of chalk). *Dork alert!* :-P
